Tyler has two moms. He has me. And he has his grand"mother". Before Tyler was even born I knew his biological father was not going to be a part of his life. Which in all honesty is probably for the best. Since he was born my mom has taken over the role of a second parent to Tyler. Being a single parent was very hard. But not as hard as it could have been. My mom was there for me through it all no matter what. She always and still does make sure that Tyler has everything he could possibly need. Tyler is so blessed to have her as a grandmother.
From 2007 until January of this year my mom was raising Tyler. Tyler was living in Illinois with my mom and step dad while I was in California trying to figure out my life. Yes, it was very hard being away from my son for that time period. I did visit every few months when I got the chance to but it was still a very difficult situation for everyone. My mom took over the role of a parent to Tyler. I knew he was in good hands when I decided to give her guardianship of him. My mom loves that little boy more than anything else in this world. She always puts him first before anything else in her life. I am SO thankful to have a mom like her. And I am even more thankful that she was there for Tyler when he needed her the most. She is by far the best grandmother a child could ever have.
