"Summer afternoon - summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language." ~Henry James
What Summer means to me:
Picnics. Spending a good portion of the day outdoors. Hammocks. Sunglasses. The beach. Lazy afternoons. Fireflies. Dragonflies. Magazines. Games. Pictures. Barefeet in the grass. Laying under the stars. BBQ's. Long walks. Spending time with friends and family.
I cannot believe Summer is almost over already..and for my son Tyler it has already come to an end. Yesterday was his first day back to school. His first day of 1st Grade. But I will write more about that in the next posting. I want to take a moment to reflect back on this past Summer. And all of the fun adventures that Tyler and I had together.
These are just some of the things we did in the past 3 months:
- Endless trips to the park.
- Playing in the hand-made forts.
- Monkey Joes.
- Day trips to Lake Geneva.
- Swim class.
- Soccer class.
- Nature walks. And lots of them.
- Playing in the sprinklers.
- Water gun fights.
- Day trip to Lake Michigan.
- Zoo.
- Fair.
- Picnics in the backyard.
- Boardgames.
- Treasure hunts in the backyard.
- Pool time.
- Movies.
- Looking for toads. And succeeding.
- Bowling.
- Fireworks.
- Piggy back rides.
Here are some photos of Tyler's fun Summer:

Just because Summer is coming to an end doesn't mean the fun has to! I can't wait to see what the Fall season will bring!
